Today New City Initiative is comprised of 50 leading independent asset management firms from the UK and the Continent, managing approximately £400 billion and employing several thousand people.
Since September 2011, NCI has welcomed non-UK members. The group, run from our Paris branch aims to give a voice to independently owned asset management firms across the European Union. Our Paris branch is closely linked to London and has its own Board of Directors.
Dominic founded Somerset Capital Management in 2007 and is the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Director of Marketing. Somerset Capital Management LLP is an employee-owned Global Emerging Markets, specialist fund management firm.
Dominic has spent the last 14 years raising capital for various institutions in Asia, the USA and the UK starting with Robert Flemings in London in 1995 and Jardine Fleming in 1998. From 2001-2007 Dominic, with Jacob Rees-Mogg and Edward Robertson, built Lloyd George Management from $1.5bn under management to $16bn when he left in April 2007.

Muriel Faure began her career as a financial analyst in 1982; she then worked as an international fund manager from 1985 onwards for a number of leading financial operators, ABN-AMRO, Fortis, Paribas and Crédit Lyonnais. Intrigued by the potential and complexity of new technologies and the lack of existing reliable information sources, she co-founded IT Asset Management with Benoit Flamant. She now develops FOURPOINTS on conviction-based management, based on in-house research and niche asset classes.
Guillaume Dard has been the Chairman & CEO of Montpensier Finance, a Paris-based independant asset management company, specialised in European Equities, since 2004.
He formerly Presided over the creation and development of the Banque du Louvre from 1988 to 2003. As a pioneer in the field of multi-management in France, Banque du Louvre established itself as a reference in the field of portfolio management, among private investors and institutions.
He was Deputy Chairman of CCF Charterhouse European Holding, in charge of coordinating the corporate finance businesses within the CCF Group, and also a board member of luxury goods and hotel companies within the Taittinger Group.
Guillaume Dard began his banking carrier in 1982 at Banque Vernes et Commerciale de Paris and then participated in the creation of BFT until 1988.
Diploma: Sciences Po Paris in 1979 and MBA at NYU Stern School of business in 1983.
Along his career, Laurent Deltour has been involved in many different aspects of the financial world, private equity at IDI, mergers and acquisitions at Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild and finally asset management at Banque du Louvre.
After these fulfilling experiences, he has founded in 2001 Sycomore Asset Management and he is the President of the company since then.
Sycomore Asset Management is an independent asset managers specialized in European equity with both long only and long short strategies.
Graduated from the HEC business school (Lausanne) and holds a PhD in Economics. He started his career at Crédit Commercial de France and was responsible for the firm's institutional operations. In 1982, he joined Banque Indosuez (Paris) as a portfolio manager supervising the Pacific Basin markets. He was a Director at Batif before moving on to Multifinance International. Vincent joined Comgest in 1994, is CEO of Comgest SA and oversees Asia, Emerging Market and Global equity.
Mr. Eric Helderlé is the Managing Director, Founding Member, and Director of Carmignac Gestion S.A. He Co-Founded the firm in 1989 and is responsible for its general management. Mr. Helderlé is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg S.A. Previously, he served as the Business Development Manager at Pyramide Gestion, where Mr. Helderlé was responsible for coordinating the firm’s expansion. He had joined the firm in 1987. Prior to that, Mr. Helderlé worked at Trans Expansion from 1984 to 1987. He holds an M.B.A. from Iowa State University.
Olivier Johanet is an entrepreneur who leads since September 2009 the development of La Financiere Responsable LFR, an Asset Management Cy specialized in SRI. He defined and implemented a strategy of specialization focused on innovation, high quality and deep fundamental analysis in Eurozone Equity.
Prior to LFR, Olivier was, since the inception, CEO of La Francaise des Placements LFP AM, recognised in her community as a brilliant success story. As the company was managing around 8 bn euros with 85 high qualified professionals all shareholders, it was sold in June 2009 to Credit Mutuel du Nord group.
Prior these years, Olivier was with Credit Agricole Asset Management for 10 years, being at first in charge of Institutional Sales, and then head of the International Sales. Before, he was head of marketing and sales at the starting of Fimagest. Prior to this experience, he served as a banker specialised in audit, and in corporate credit.
Olivier has a long teaching experience in finance, corporate strategy and ethics with the HEC EMBA program. He has been awarded as a Knight of the Academic Medal Order.
Olivier graduated from Political Sciences and Law university in Paris and obtained a MBA at Paris CPA.
Philippe Lebeau graduated from HEC School of Management and Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. He began his career at the chartered surveyor Insignia Bourdais. He later worked for Banque du Louvre and HSBC, before joining Comgest in 2009 as Head of Marketing and Investor Relations. He manages NCI Europe’s operations in Paris.
